KJV : Twenty and five years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name also [was] Abi, the daughter of Zachariah.
YLT : a son of twenty and five years was he in his reigning, and twenty and nine years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Abi daughter of Zechariah.

BNV : তাঁর পূর্বপুরুষ দায়ূদের মতোই হিষ্কিয় প্রভুর নির্দেশিত পথে জীবন কাটিযেছিলেন|
KJV : And he did [that which was] right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that David his father did.

BNV : হিষ্কিয় উচ্চস্থানগুলি এবং স্মরণ স্তম্ভগুলো ভেঙে ফেললেন এবং আশেরার খুঁটিগুলিও কেটে ফেলেছিলেন| সে সময় ইস্রায়েলের লোকরা “নহুষ্টন” নামে মোশির বানানো পিতলের একটা সাপের মূর্ত্তির সামনে ধুপধূনো দিত| হিষ্কিয় লোকদের এই পুতুল পূজা বন্ধ করার জন্য পিতলের সাপটাকে টুকরো টুকরো করে ভেঙে দিয়েছিলেন|
KJV : He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brasen serpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan.
YLT : he hath turned aside the high places, and broken in pieces the standing-pillars, and cut down the shrine, and beaten down the brazen serpent that Moses made, for unto these days were the sons of Israel making perfume to it, and he calleth it `a piece of brass.`

ERVEN : Hezekiah destroyed the high places. He broke the memorial stones and cut down the Asherah poles. At that time the Israelites burned incense to the bronze snake made by Moses. This bronze snake was called "Nehushtan." Hezekiah broke this bronze snake into pieces.

BNV : প্রভু, ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বরের ওপর হিষ্কিয়র সম্পূর্ণ আস্থা ছিল| হিষ্কিয়র আগে বা পরে যিহূদার কোন রাজাই তাঁর মত ছিলেন না|
KJV : He trusted in the LORD God of Israel; so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor [any] that were before him.

KJV : And the LORD was with him; [and] he prospered whithersoever he went forth: and he rebelled against the king of Assyria, and served him not.

ERVEN : The Lord was with Hezekiah, so he was successful in everything he did. Hezekiah broke away from the king of Assyria and stopped serving him.

KJV : And it came to pass in the fourth year of king Hezekiah, which [was] the seventh year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, [that] Shalmaneser king of Assyria came up against Samaria, and besieged it.
YLT : And it cometh to pass, in the fourth year of king Hezekiah -- it [is] the seventh year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel -- come up hath Shalmaneser king of Asshur against Samaria, and layeth siege to it,

ERVEN : King Shalmaneser of Assyria went to fight against Samaria. His army surrounded the city. This happened during the fourth year that Hezekiah was king of Judah. (This was also the seventh year that Hoshea son of Elah was king of Israel.)

ERVEN : The king of Assyria took the Israelites as prisoners to Assyria. He made them live in Halah, on the Habor (the river of Gozan), and in the cities of the Medes.

BNV : ইস্রায়েলীয়রা তাদের প্রভু ঈশ্বরের প্রতি অবজ্ঞা প্রদর্শন করায এবং প্রভুর সঙ্গে তাদের চুক্তি ভঙ্গ করার জন্যই এ ঘটনা ঘটেছিল| প্রভুর দাস মোশি য়ে আদেশগুলি দিয়েছিলেন বা ইস্রায়েলীয়দের য়ে নীতি-শিক্ষা দিয়েছিলেন, তা তারা পালন না করার জন্যই এই দুর্য়োগ ঘনিয়ে আসে|
KJV : Because they obeyed not the voice of the LORD their God, but transgressed his covenant, [and] all that Moses the servant of the LORD commanded, and would not hear [them,] nor do [them. ]
YLT : because that they have not hearkened to the voice of Jehovah their God, and transgress His covenant -- all that He commanded Moses, servant of Jehovah -- yea, they have not hearkened nor done [it].

ERVEN : This happened because the Israelites did not obey the Lord their God. They broke his agreement and did not obey everything that Moses, the Lord's servant, had commanded. The Israelites would not listen to the Lord's agreement or do what it taught them to do.

KJV : Now in the fourteenth year of king Hezekiah did Sennacherib king of Assyria come up against all the fenced cities of Judah, and took them.
YLT : And in the fourteenth year of king Hezekiah hath Sennacherib king of Asshur come up against all the fenced cities of Judah, and seizeth them,
RV : Now in the fourteenth year of king Hezekiah did Sennacherib king of Assyria come up against all the fenced cities of Judah, and took them.

BNV : তখন যিহূদার রাজা হিষ্কিয় লাখীশে অশূররাজের কাছে একটা খবর পাঠালেন| হিষ্কিয় বললেন, “আমি অন্যায করেছি| আপনি আমার রাজত্ব ছেড়ে চলে গেলে, আপনি যা চাইবেন আমি তাই দিতে প্রস্তুত আছি|”তখন অশূররাজ হিষ্কিয়ের কাছে
KJV : And Hezekiah king of Judah sent to the king of Assyria to Lachish, saying, I have offended; return from me: that which thou puttest on me will I bear. And the king of Assyria appointed unto Hezekiah king of Judah three hundred talents of silver and thirty talents of gold.
YLT : and Hezekiah king of Judah sendeth unto the king of Asshur to Lachish, saying, `I have sinned, turn back from off me; that which thou puttest on me I bear;` and the king of Asshur layeth on Hezekiah king of Judah three hundred talents of silver, and thirty talents of gold,
RV : And Hezekiah king of Judah sent to the king of Assyria to Lachish, saying, I have offended; return from me: that which thou puttest on me will I bear. And the king of Assyria appointed unto Hezekiah king of Judah three hundred talents of silver and thirty talents of gold.

ASV : And Hezekiah king of Judah sent to the king of Assyria to Lachish, saying, I have offended; return from me: that which thou puttest on me will I bear. And the king of Assyria appointed unto Hezekiah king of Judah three hundred talents of silver and thirty talents of gold.
ESV : And Hezekiah king of Judah sent to the king of Assyria at Lachish, saying, "I have done wrong; withdraw from me. Whatever you impose on me I will bear." And the king of Assyria required of Hezekiah king of Judah three hundred talents of silver and thirty talents of gold.
ERVEN : Then King Hezekiah of Judah sent a message to the king of Assyria at Lachish. Hezekiah said, "I have done wrong. Leave me alone, and I will pay whatever you want." Then the king of Assyria told King Hezekiah of Judah to pay over 11 tons of silver and over 1 ton of gold.

BNV : হিষ্কিয় প্রভুর মন্দিরে ও রাজকোষে যত রূপো ছিল সবই অশূররাজকে দিয়ে দেন|
KJV : And Hezekiah gave [him] all the silver that was found in the house of the LORD, and in the treasures of the king’s house.
YLT : and Hezekiah giveth all the silver that is found in the house of Jehovah, and in the treasures of the house of the king;
RV : And Hezekiah gave {cf15i him} all the silver that was found in the house of the LORD, and in the treasures of the king-s house.

BNV : হিষ্কিয় প্রভুর মন্দিরের দরজা ও দরজার থামে য়েসব সোনা বসিযেছিলেন, সে সবও কেটে অশূররাজকে পাঠিয়ে দিয়েছিলেন|
KJV : At that time did Hezekiah cut off [the gold from] the doors of the temple of the LORD, and [from] the pillars which Hezekiah king of Judah had overlaid, and gave it to the king of Assyria.
YLT : at that time hath Hezekiah cut off the doors of the temple of Jehovah, and the pillars that Hezekiah king of Judah had overlaid, and giveth them to the king of Asshur.
RV : At that time did Hezekiah cut off {cf15i the gold from} the doors of the temple of the LORD, and {cf15i from} the pillars which Hezekiah king of Judah had overlaid, and gave it to the king of Assyria.
RSV : At that time Hezekiah stripped the gold from the doors of the temple of the LORD, and from the doorposts which Hezekiah king of Judah had overlaid and gave it to the king of Assyria.
ASV : At that time did Hezekiah cut off the gold from the doors of the temple of Jehovah, and from the pillars which Hezekiah king of Judah had overlaid, and gave it to the king of Assyria.
ESV : At that time Hezekiah stripped the gold from the doors of the temple of the LORD and from the doorposts that Hezekiah king of Judah had overlaid and gave it to the king of Assyria.
ERVEN : That is when Hezekiah cut off the gold that he had put on the doors and doorposts of the Lord's Temple and gave it to the king of Assyria.

BNV : অশূররাজ লাখীশ থেকে জেরুশালেমে হিষ্কিয়র কাছে তাঁর সব চেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ তিনজন সেনাপতি, রব্শাকি, তর্ত্তয ও রব্সারিসের অধীনে একটি বড় সেনাবাহিনী পাঠান| তারা ধোপাদের ঘাটের কাছের রাস্তার ওপরের খাঁড়ির কাছে দাঁড়িয়ে ছিল|
KJV : And the king of Assyria sent Tartan and Rabsaris and Rab-shakeh from Lachish to king Hezekiah with a great host against Jerusalem. And they went up and came to Jerusalem. And when they were come up, they came and stood by the conduit of the upper pool, which is in the highway of the fuller’s field.
YLT : And the king of Asshur sendeth Tartan, and the chief of the eunuchs, and the chief of the butlers, from Lachish, unto king Hezekiah, with a heavy force, to Jerusalem, and they go up and come in to Jerusalem, and they go up, and come in and stand by the conduit of the upper pool that [is] in the highway of the fuller`s field.
RV : And the king of Assyria sent Tartan and Rab-saris and Rabshakeh from Lachish to king Hezekiah with a great army unto Jerusalem. And they went up and came to Jerusalem. When they arrived, they came and stood by the conduit of the upper pool, which is on the highway to the Washer's Field.
ERVEN : The king of Assyria sent his three most important officers with a large army to King Hezekiah in Jerusalem. They left Lachish and went to Jerusalem. They stood near the aqueduct by the Upper Pool, on the street that leads up to Laundryman's Field.

KJV : And when they had called to the king, there came out to them Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, which [was] over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah the son of Asaph the recorder.
YLT : And they call unto the king, and go out unto them doth Eliakim son of Hilkiah, who [is] over the house, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah son of Asaph the remembrancer.
RV : And when they had called to the king, there came out to them Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, which was over the household, and Shebnah the scribe, and Joah the son of Asaph the recorder.

ESV : And when they called for the king, there came out to them Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, who was over the household, and Shebnah the secretary, and Joah the son of Asaph, the recorder.
ERVEN : These men called for the king, but Eliakim son of Hilkiah, Shebna, and Joah son of Asaph went out to meet them. Eliakim was the palace manager, Joah was the record keeper, and Shebna was the royal secretary.

BNV : তুমি বলো, “যুদ্ধ করবার মতো য়থেষ্ট শক্তি তোমার আছে|” কিন্তু সে তো কথার কথা মাত্র! কার ভরসায় তুমি আমার অধীনতা অস্বীকার করেছ?
KJV : Thou sayest, (but [they are but] vain words,) [I have] counsel and strength for the war. Now on whom dost thou trust, that thou rebellest against me?

BNV : তুমি কি মিশরের ওপর, একটি বেনু বাঁশের তৈরী চলবার ছড়ির ওপর নির্ভর করছ? মনে রেখো এই ছড়ির ওপর বেশী ভর দিলে, ছড়ি তো ভাঙবেই এমন কি তার চোঁচও তোমার হাতে ফুটে তোমায় জখম করতে পারে! মিশরের রাজার উপরে তুমি নির্ভর করতে পার না|
KJV : Now, behold, thou trustest upon the staff of this bruised reed, [even] upon Egypt, on which if a man lean, it will go into his hand, and pierce it: so is Pharaoh king of Egypt unto all that trust on him.
YLT : `Now, lo, thou hast trusted for thee on the staff of this broken reed, on Egypt; which a man leaneth on, and it hath gone into his hand, and pierced it! -- so [is] Pharaoh king of Egypt to all those trusting on him.

ERVEN : Are you depending on Egypt to help you? Egypt is like a broken walking stick. If you lean on it for support, it will only hurt you and make a hole in your hand. Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, cannot be trusted by anyone who depends on him for help.

KJV : But Rab-shakeh said unto them, Hath my master sent me to thy master, and to thee, to speak these words? [hath he] not [sent me] to the men which sit on the wall, that they may eat their own dung, and drink their own piss with you.

ERVEN : Then the palace manager (Eliakim son of Hilkiah), the royal secretary (Shebna), and the record keeper (Joah son of Asaph) went to Hezekiah. Their clothes were torn to show they were upset. They told Hezekiah everything the Assyrian commander had said.
